Saint Just de Claix

Originally, the village was located on the hill, next to a Cistercian royal abbey of the 14th century called “Notre-Dame des Anges”. It provided shelter for the grave of Béatrix de Hongrie, mother of Humbert II, last dauphin of the Dauphiné. This building was renovated on several occasions and became castle about 1850. Now the owners live in the “Château des Anges”. Located between the Isère and the Royans, on the main Valence-Grenoble road, this farming village has many firms relating to woodwork and food processing industry.
